Three Rivers hoops starts tonight with Raider Madness

College basketball has arrived as Three Rivers College will be hosting Raider Madness tonight at the Libla Family Sports Complex. The doors will open at 10:30 p.m. With the 2022-23 season just a month away, Raider Madness marks the first official practice for both the men’s and women’s basketball teams and it’s open to the public. It won’t be your typical basketball practice with drills and suicide runs as there’s a few extras thrown in for the entertainment of Raider Nation.

Starting at 11 p.m. there will be a 3-point shooting contest between the Raiders and Lady Raiders, followed by a performance by the Three Rivers cheer squad and the Raiders will showcase their high-flying abilities with a dunk contest. When the clock strikes midnight and the calendar officially flips to October, the Lady Raiders will scrimmage and a half hour later the men will scrimmage.

The women will have a couple of home preseason scrimmages against Dyersburg State on Oct. 21 and Lyon College on Oct. 29 and the men will have a home jamboree on Oct. 22 with an opponent to be determined. The men’s basketball season will tip off on Nov. 1 at Olney Central College with the home opener a few days later on Nov. 4 against Richard J. Daley College. The women will start their season at home on Nov. 5 against Wabash Valley College.
