The Three Rivers women's basketball team had its start to the 2023-24 season on Wednesday when it hit the road to take on Dyersburg State.

 

The Raiders didn't waste any time getting a lead as they led wire-to-wire in the 60-39 victory. Alex Wiggs and company led 11-0 before Dyersburg State even got on the board as the Raiders held the Eagles without a field goal for the entire first quarter.  Dyersburg State would only get three free throws during the openeing frame as it trailed 18-3 after one.  Three Rivers didn't take its foot off the gas in the second as the Raiders increased their lead to 35-14 at the break.  Dyersburg State found its footing in the second half but the deficit the Raiders held was already too big to overcome.

 

Three Rivers will host Wabash Valley at 3 p.m. on Saturday for its first home game of the season as it's a part of a doubleheader with the men taking on John A. Logan at 7 p.m.

TRC hosts Olney Central at 3 p.m. Sunday.
