Lady Raiders split twin bill at Jefferson

HILLSBORO — The Three Rivers College softball team split a pair of games Tuesday afternoon at Jefferson College, dropping the opener 12-4 but winning the nightcap 6-2.

In the second game, Three Rivers (13-11) scored four runs in the top of the first inning to take a lead it would never relinquish.

Gracie Wright and Wriley Taylor each had a pair of hits and also drove in a pair of runs apiece in the game.

That was more than enough run support for Emma Crabb, who went the distance in the circle for the win. She allowed six hits, one earned run and no walks while striking out seven. Eighty-two of Crabb's 127 pitches went for strikes.

In Tuesday's opener, the Lady Raiders trailed 3-2 going to the bottom of the fourth inning when the host Vikings scored three times in the bottom of the fourth.

Jeffco then added four more runs in the second to seize control of the game, and later added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to enforce the eight-run mercy rule.

Wright, Lexi Davis and Clara Rahlmann each had two hits, while Wright and Alyssa Bastien each drove in two runs.

Elly Eckrich took the loss for Three Rivers, allowing six earned runs and 12 hits in 4 2/3 innings of work.

The Lady Raiders are back in action Thursday when they head to Moberly for a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
